Most short-term rental apartments are not full services – you will have to prepare your own meals. There is not a lot of paperwork involved in renting an apartment. The process is usually fast and easy. Based on your price range, you can brows one of the apartment rental websites and book an apartment in advance. But once you get there, if it is not to your liking or does not match the online description, you should speak to the agency. If you are dealing with a broker or a real estate agent, you should be aware the both the owner and the renter are charged commission. A studio apartment in the city center will cost about $500 dollars per month. If you are looking for an apartment for just a few days, the average price ranges from 10.000 to 20.000 drams per day. If the apartment is situated in the city center, it’s better to rent on a higher floor, for less noise from the street. Bear in mind that renting an apartment guarantees you a real Yerevan lifestyle. Do not get surprised at street vendors loudly praising their products. You can still buy vegetables, fruits, dairy products, fish, honey, detergents and even brooms in the backyard of your building in Yerevan. Sometimes, vendors knock on apartment doors offering their product. Occasionally, people bargain from their windows. Neighbors usually knows each other well. Do not get surprised if you get invited over for coffee. If you have aloud neighbor, it’s usually best just to live with it. To tell the truth, complaining is often useless. There is not building management either, so you should immediately contact the apartment owner if something has happened. Rental apartments have their advantages and disadvantages. But if you want to live the real Yerevan life, this choice is the best for you.
HOTELS
There is a wide range of hotels in Yerevan. The majority of them are situated in the center, close to the main tourist routes and places of interest.
Rates vary depending on the season. In the five-star hotel, which is located not far from the city center, an average room from November to March will cost you 54.000 drams and the rest of the time, it is 70.000 drams. A standard room in the city center, in another five-star hotel, the cost will be 73.000 drams. In the four-star hotel, the room will cost 45.000 drams. In Yerevan, four and three-star hotels do not differ so much in price.
When reserving a rooms, remember to inquire whether or not it’s a smoking room, and whether or not the price includes breakfast. It is usually included, but there may be exceptions.
